Review: Bourjoirs Color Boost Lipstick

I went out and bought these after I saw one of my YouTube gurus (Nikkie Tutorials) use these in one of her tutorials.  Luckily I caught the Boots ‘3 for 2 offer’ and grabbed two of these colours along with a eyeliner pen, which I’m loving too! J I picked up Peach on the Beach (soft pinky peach colour) and Red Sunshine (very wearable Cherry Red).

I am usually a lipstick person who looks for high pigmentation, since my lips are already quite pigmented. These provided opaque coverage after several sweeps whilst covering my actual lip colour.

What I love about them:
ü  Moisturizing, smooth, not sticky
ü  Glossy
ü  SPF 15
ü  No sharpening required

Not so great
ü  Requires reapplication after meals
ü  Several sweeps to get coverage on pigmented lips

Best use: I would use them mostly for daytime looks or paired with a dark smokey eye
(Peach on the Beach) is perfect for that!

Dressing up for Eid!

Hi everyone, Just wanted to share my Eid outfits and make-up looks. With the pink outfit I went for neutral eyes paired with super bright lips (Maybelline Color Sensational in Fuchsia Flash). With the cream outfit I did a more dramatic eye but not so much since it was a day time party with a pop of green under the eye.

Favorite Summer Lipsticks

During summer I just like to keep makeup to a minimum except for the dressed up lip in super bright but wearable colours. These days I just find myself reaching for hot pinks and I'm in love with this new peachy gloss I bought recently. Hence I thought I would share my most used lip colours of the moment. And beware, overdose of pink is on the way!

1. Maybelline Color Sensation Blushing Brunette topped with Rimmel Apocalips shade Luna: By itself the gloss kind of washes me out but combined its a warm, nude peach that looks great with glowy skin. Perfect for a day out at the beach.
2. Sleek True Color Lipstick Candy Cane. This is supposed to be a dupe for Mac Impassioned. Its a lovely pinky coral shade on my lips.
3. Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss 02. This is a bright slightly deeper true pink goes on creamy but did feel a little drying later. But I love the color so much I did not really care! This is supposed to be a dupe for Mac Girl About Town. I don't own any of the Mac versions so can't  confirm how closely these dupes match the originals.
4. Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Fuchsia Flash. This is a gorgeous neon pink that looks great on my Asian skin tone.
5. Collection 2000 Volume Sensation: Ruby Red. This is a true red, bold and bright.

Quality wise they vary and these do require reapplication after meals/drinks. I would definitely recommend these colours to ladies with brown warm Asian skin tones who are not intimated by bright lips. :)

Review: Collection Hot Looks Nailpolish {Shade:Siren}

This is a bright and warm almost neon pink colour with a nice shine. I absolutely love it for the summertime. It doesn't quite dry in 60 seconds as the bottle claims but it was quite fast drying and for retail price of £ 1.99 I'm not complaining at all! It requires two coats for the right coverage. I think the colour goes nicely with my Asian skintone.

I would definitely recommend the Hot Looks colours and they have a nice selection of brights to choose from.

Shirts- My New Summertime Best Friend!

Its difficult to find hijab friendly outfits in the summertime when everything out there is sleeveless or short. There ain't no way out of layering. Layering up in winter to cover up the arms is fine by me but in the summer its a real pain to wear that extra long sleeved T underneath. My answer, cotton shirts! Not only do they come in long sleeves, they are also pretty long in length, just enough to cover up nicely!

I also like the way they fit, not too tailored yet not too baggy! I got myself a couple from New Look and they are great for casual everyday wear with a pair of jeans without the hassle of layering up. Here are some I would consider adding to my collection. :)
